As some of you already know, I have recently been doing consulting for a new barn wedding venue in Southern Kentucky called The Barn at Cedar Grove. Being the skeptic that I am, when I was first approached by owner Amy Mitchum I had many questions. There was no doubt about the beauty of her property and her restored barn, but even in my few short years in this business I have learned that there are so many other factors that determine the success of a venue. But after my first meeting with her, I was sold 110% sold on her vision, dedication, and ability to provide a quality venue in an area that offers very few others, and to make some very happy brides and grooms!
The property really sells itself- ample land, both wooded and meadow, surrounding a beautiful restored 1911 barn that seats a generous 230 people! Construction on a restroom facility adjoining the barn and a separate cabin for the bride and her bridesmaids has begun this week, and will be completed in April. Interest in May weddings has been overwhelming, and we couldn’t be more excited!
If you are a Kentucky area bride looking for a farm venue, or a photographer looking for a unique setting for bridal portraits and engagement shoots, check out their new website. Amy’s daughter was married at the property last year, and I’m sure it won’t be difficult to imagine adding your own touches to create your dream wedding!
